Dr. Arup Chakrabarti, a specialist in anterior segment microsurgery, specifically Phacoemulsification and Glaucoma, has an impressive career spanning 33 years in the field of Ophthalmology. He holds an MS. DO. from JIPMER and is renowned for his expertise and significant contributions to the field.
Internationally, Dr. Arup Chakrabarti has been honored with the Best Paper of the Session at the ASCRS Meeting in San Francisco in 2009, the Achievement Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 2011, the Achievement Award by the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology in 2013, and the Senior Achievement Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 2019. He was also elected as a Member of the International Intraocular Implant Club in 2015.
Nationally, he has received accolades such as the Capt. Subramoniam Award in 1995 for the Best Video Presentation at the Annual Conference of TNOA, the M.M. Joshi Oration Award in 2007 for his esteemed contribution in Ophthalmology at the 7th Annual Conference of Deccan Ophthalmic Society, and the Gold Medal for Contribution as a “Great Teacher in Ophthalmology” in 2015, recognized by IIRSI.
Dr. Arup Chakrabarti has been awarded the Dr. Siva Reddy Award in 2002 and the Dr. Sankara Menon Award in 2007 for the Best Free Paper at the Annual Conference of KSOS.
Dr. Arup Chakrabarti is currently a cataract surgeon and consultant at Chakrabarti Eye Care Centre and serves as a visiting surgeon at Our Hospital Dr. Ramesh Kumar Kurup & Sarada Memorial Eye Hospital.
